Three guaranteed winners will collect prizes in next Saturday's North West Leicestershire Community Lottery draw.

The first one, held this week, did not produce a jackpot winner.

But this Saturday's draw will have a first prize of £500, a second prize of £250 and a third winner will get £250 - all in Love2Shop vouchers.

For every £1 ticket sold, 40p goes to good causes in North West Leicestershire, so you can know you are supporting local organisations.

The local lottery has been set up by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) in a bid to raise money for charities and good causes throughout the district – including uniform groups, heritage groups, sports clubs and community groups.

Players are able to choose which local good cause 40 per cent of their ticket sale goes to.

The rest will go towards a North West Leicestershire Community Fund, prize money, running costs and VAT.

Councillor Michael Wyatt, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change at NWLDC, said: "We've established the North West Leicestershire Community Lottery as a way for good causes in the district to raise essential funds.
