A new restaurant to open in Ashby, replacing the recently closed Calypso Caribbean-English bistro.

The Olive Terrace announced their arrival to Ashby with a sign appearing in the window of the Calypso window saying: 'Opening soon. Keep your eyes peeled for more details.'

This announcement comes after a surprise closure of Calypso.

Just seven months after opening, Calypso announced their surprise closure on 6 May, providing no reason or explanation.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant owner said: 'Unfortunately, we will be closed until further notice. We're sorry for the inconvenience, and we will keep you updated as much as we can.'

There is not yet much information about The Olive Terrace (not to be mistaken for The Olive Branch Café on School Lane).

Currently, the available information shows that The Olive Terrace Ltd was registered on 20 June 2026 as a licensed restaurant at 72 Wood Street, Ashby de la Zouch.
