A new convenience store has opened in Ashby - and it is the owner's first shop.

Colinette Heath, from Leicester, opened Colinette's Bargain Buy on April 5 at the rear of Huntingdon Court with access from North Street opposite Ivanhoe College.

Colinette says the shop will serve the community with bargain prices on everyday items.

She added: "The shop is my first business venture which I hope will grow and add value to the Ashby retail market and community in general.

"The shop will be open seven days a week, 7am-7pm weekdays and 7am-1pm Sundays serving grocery items, dairy products, sweets and snacks, cold and hot drinks, health and beauty products, toiletries, pet foods and DIY products at discounted prices.

"I am currently working on an online portal to enable customers to place orders and also offer free same day delivery to over 65s in the near future."
