A visitor attraction near Ashby has made it through to the final of the Leicestershire Promotions Tourism and Hospitality Awards 2024.

Award-winning National Forest venue Conkers, based in Moira, has been nominated in the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category.

Now in its 14th year, the awards - organised by Leicestershire Promotions and supported by Visit Leicester - are the regional heat of the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Athena in Leicester on December 4, and 13 of the winners will automatically proceed to the national awards.

Nicky Carlton, General Manager at Conkers, said: "We are extremely proud to be one of the finalists in the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category.

"We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the amazing families and friends who come and visit us, as your continued support and enthusiasm make achievements such as this possible."

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicestershire Promotions, added: "All the finalists have worked very hard indeed to reach this far.

"As always, the competition is extremely fierce and we look forward to revealing the deserving winners at the renowned ceremony in December."
