A online reusable nappies business based in Ashby has been given the go-ahead for a storage and distribution building - despite objections from the town council.

The building will be sited at Trunet House in Norman Court, which is part of the Ivanhoe Business Park.

Planning permission was applied for in February by Stephanie Revill of Modern Cloth Nappies Ltd.

But, the following month, Ashby de la Zouch Town Council's planning committee said it objected to the scheme as the proposed building design and visual appearance is not in keeping with the surrounding area.

However, North West Leicestershire District Council gave it the green light last week.

Natural England says the proposed development will not have significant adverse impacts on designated sites and has no objection.

Environmental Health also had no objections, adding: "The proposed use would not negatively impact on its environment by way of noise, light, odour or other disturbance."
