Police are investigating instances of what they describe as 'offensive material' left on vehicles at Albert Village Lake car park.

The nature of the material has not been revealed - but it is being left in envelopes on cars at the visitor attraction.

North West Leicestershire Police are now appealing for information from the public in an attempt to find who is responsible.

There is mystery over the envelopes as they have been left on cars during the last week at varying times of the day.

A social media post says: "Officers from the Forest Beat Team are investigating reports of offensive material being left in envelopes on people's cars at Albert Village Lake car park.

"This has occurred on at least two occasions over the last week at varying times of day.

"If you have witnessed anything or have any information as to who might be involved to contact Leicestershire Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 25000156016."
