Motorists facing seven weeks of rolling road closures along key Ashby route as part of gas works

Motorists have been warned of two months worth of rolling road closures on a key Ashby route - starting this week.
Cadent will be carrying out a gas main replacement scheme along Derby Road, The Callis and Smisby Road.
Leicestershire County Council says the work will be centred on the area between Ash Tree Road and Meredith Road.
It will begin on February 26 and is scheduled to last for seven weeks.
There is a diversion route in place which will be via the A511 and Burton Road.

There will also be two days of road closures at Willesley Road in Ashby next month.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water carry out the urgent renewal of customer connection.
A road closure is required on Willesley Road between Tamworth Road and Willesley Gardens on March 2, for two days.
Works will commence on March 1 under temporary traffic signals before changing to a road closure the next day.
The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Measham Road, Ashby de la Zouch; Ashby Road, New Street, Measham; Measham Road, Oakthorpe; Measham Road, Ashby Road, Donisthorpe; Willesley Lane, Ashby de la Zouch; and vice versa.
