Motiv8studio won 11 out of 14 bouts at last weekend's night of championship boxing at Ashby Leisure Centre.

The Legacy Events night saw Damien Grice, who began training with Ashby-based Motiv8 at just 16 years old, pick up the IBA Light Middleweight Championship of the world with a fourth round stoppage over Liverpool's tough Keiran Cavaley.

Grice, now aged 29, was dominant throughout and finished in ferocious style.

Another winner was Zoe Newton who picked up her second English title with an impressive third round stoppage.

Head coach, Liam Parker, challenged for the unified Light Heavyweight champion of the world, facing Adio Howell.

Howell started strong and Parker used the jab to contain him and set up some brutal body shots.

The Jamaican took eight counts in the fourth and fifth rounds, but showed tremendous heart getting up to continue.

As round six opened though, Parker placed a beautiful body shot, rendering the previously unbeaten Howell unable to continue.

With a full house in attendance, this could turn out to be the most successful Ashby show to date.
