Measham's Covid vaccination centre records milestone jab

The 20,000th patient was vaccinated at Measham Leisure Centre today (Wednesday).

It was a moment that was shared by the North West Leicestershire GP Federation of 12 GP practices caring for 109,000 patients across the disrtict.

The milestone jab was given to Mrs Susan Reid who celebrated with the staff at Measham.

The GP Federation's Twitter post reads: "Very proud to announce that today we vaccinated our 20,000th patient.

"Thank you Mrs Susan Reid for allowing us to celebrate with you in true North West style."

We at Nub News have been following the centre's progress since it as set up at Measham Leisure Centre in January We go behind the scenes at Measham vaccination centre.

The system has been running like clockwork despite some shortages of the vaccine in recent months.

Last week, we reported that the centre has been hailed as one of the most efficient in Leicestershire.
