A new defibrillator has been installed in Measham - thanks to the fundraising efforts of a local gym.

The 24/7 facility is located on the Westminster industrial estate - and was made possible by a 24-hour event last September organised by Anthony Pullen Personal Training - which raised a total of £5,305

A social media post by the gym said: "We're thrilled to announce the installation of a 24/7 public access defibrillator, made possible by your incredible support during our gruelling 24-hour fundraiser back in September.

"This lifesaving device is now available to everyone, anytime, ensuring our community is better prepared to respond in emergencies.

"Together, we've taken a huge step toward safeguarding lives.

"A massive thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and cheered us on during the fundraiser - you made this happen!"

The post also thanks those who supported the event 'through the dark moments'.

It adds: "Too many other people to thank, but you know who you are and the role you played.

"Let's continue to look out for each other and spread the word - access is available 24/7, because every second counts.

"The defibrillator is a crucial piece of equipment that can save lives in the event of a cardiac emergency, ensuring that not only our clients but also our neighbours situated on the same Industrial Estate stay safe while at work."

Gym Owner Anthony Pullen, together with friends Gary Hateley, Dave Williams and Kieran Dovey took part in a 24 hour endurance event.

The challenge compromised of 5.247kms every hour, on the hour for 24 hours.

The total distance to be covered was the equivalent of three marathons.

Some completed the entire challenge, running each of the 5.247km distances, while others split the workouts between running and rowing and skiing machines.
