Man Rescued From House Fire In Measham

A man had to be rescued from a house in Measham following a fire caused by burnt cooking.

Fire crews from Ashby and Swadlincote were called to the property in Dysons Close this morning (Saturday).

The blaze was reported shortly before 8am and said that one man had to be rescued and that an ambulance had been called.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service posted details on its website soon after.

The report reads: "Fire Service were called to the property to a smell of burning and fire alarm sounding

"1 appliance from Ashby De La Zouch and 1 appliance from Swadlincote

"Updated Incident Information: 08:18 - one male rescued from property, 1 HR and 2 BA in use

"08:28 - All BA withdrawn, fire now extinguished. Awaiting arrival of ambulance.

"Believed Cause: Burnt cooking.

"Remember to test your smoke alarms regularly they do save lives."
