Man is seriously injured after assault outside Ashby nightclub last weekend

A 23-year-old man suffered a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain following an an assault in Ashby town centre at the weekend.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the incident outside Manhattan's Bar, just off Market Street

The victim was assaulted around 12.40am on Saturday (9 April) by a man who then made off in a black three-door Vauxhall Corsa.

The suspect has been described as being white, with short dark hair.

He was wearing a dark jumper, dark jeans and white trainers.

The victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham suffering from a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain, he was released from hospital after treatment.

There were a number of people in the area at the time and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or the circumstances leading up to it.

Also, if anyone captured the incident on their mobile phones, they are asked to get in touch.
