Man in his 70s taken to hospital after being hit by car in Breedon on the Hill

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision in Breedon on the Hill late yesterday evening (Sunday).

Police were called at 11.34pm to the incident which involved a white Ford Fiesta car and a pedestrian on the A453 Ashby Road near the junction with Burney Lane and Nottingham Road.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries.

He currently remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Officers are investigating to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hawkins said: "The collision happened late in the evening but we are appealing to anyone who may have been driving in the area and who may have any information to make contact as we continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the pedestrian or the vehicle in the area prior to the collision is asked to make contact. Similarly, anyone who has any dashcam footage or CCTV from around the area at the time of the incident is also asked to check this and to get in touch."
