Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Assault After Ashby Knife Incident

A man was was arrested on suspicion of assault in Ashby last night (Saturday) after a report of an incident involving a knife.

A number of officers and police vehicles were seen at an address in Tamworth Road at around 9.30pm in response to a call from a member of the public.

An arrest was made and the man was still in police custody on Sunday.

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police told Ashby Nub News this morning: "We were called by a member of the public at 9.18pm yesterday (Saturday) reporting concern for the welfare of a man with a knife inside an address in Tamworth Road, Ashby.

"Officers attended and arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of assault.

"He remains in police custody.

"No-one was injured in the incident."
