A main road through Measham is due to be closed this weekend (October 16/17).

Ashby Road is to be shut to traffic for two days while Western Power carry out works.

A diversion will be put in place on Saturday and Sunday.

Leicestershire County Council Highways said: "A road closure is required on Ashby Road to the north of the fuel filling station on the 16th October 2021 for two days.

"The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Western Power Distribution to facilitate a new connection.

"The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Gallows Lane, Leicester Road, High Street and vice versa."
