A local young carer in the community is pushing the boundaries to break out of her social anxiety to support a North West Leicestershire charity.

Pippa Bramley-Brown, aged 15, has been inspired by her mum Natalie who currently volunteer drives for service users at Bright Hope in Swannington, near Ashby.

She will take part in a skydive, at Langar, Nottingham, on June 22.

After learning about the services Bright Hope offers to the community, Pippa, along with her friend Laura, decided that, on her 16th birthday, to 'rise' to the challenge in the middle of her GCSEs.

Pippa and her mum are also raising additional funds by selling unwanted items from friends and family online.

Natalie said: "I'm so incredibly proud of Pippa. She struggles immensely with social anxiety. For her to do this is so inspirational.

"She's such an amazing young lady. You never know when we all might need this charity or to call on one of their services"

The girls said on their Just Giving page: "We are Pippa and Laura and are best friends. We both go to the same school and like to hang out together in our spare time.

"We both wanted to do a skydive, and decided that if we were going to take the leap, we should do it for a good cause. We have chosen to support Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire — an amazing local charity that supports people affected by life-limiting illness.

"Bright Hope offers day care, counselling, support cafés, and complementary therapies — all in a warm, welcoming space that makes a real difference to people going through incredibly tough times.
