The awards provide a great opportunity for the community to recognise and reward local people, athletes, coaches, volunteers, sports clubs and schools within the district whose achievements and leadership inspire and motivate others.

Councillor Michael Wyatt, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: "Our district is becoming more physically active thanks to local advocates who inspire and push others to move more, join clubs and achieve through activity.

"The Let's Get Moving Awards is a great opportunity to recognise these efforts and encourage others to do the same.

"Entries are now open – if you've got an unsung hero in mind that has helped you or someone you know to be more active, now is the time to give them the praise they deserve."
