Latest Ashby area road works in connection with Jaguar Land Rover gas main installation

Works are continuing in Ashby and the surrounding areas connected with the for the installation of the gas main for the Jaguar Land Rover development at Appleby Magna.

Two sets of road works are due to be completed tomorrow (Wednesday) - but others will be causing delays through into May.

Leicestershire County Council says the Project Mercia works will affect Ashby, Donisthorpe, Acresford and Stretton en le Field.

These works are being undertaken by Matrix Network.

  • 29/4/2021 – 3/5/2021 – Culvert Investigation Works
Temporary traffic signal will be required to investigate the location of a culvert on the A444 between Stretton Bridge and Acresford.

  • 2/5/2021 – 4/5/2021 – Tamworth Road, Ashby

Tamworth Road will be closed from Lower Packington Road to Station Road. The diversion route will be via Tamworth Road, Measham Road, A42 from J12 to J13, A511, Nottingham Road, Wood Street, Market Street, Bath Street, Station Road and vice versa

  • 5/5/2021 – 10/5/2021 – Church Street, Donisthorpe
Temporary traffic signals will be required on Church Street, Donisthorpe near to the junction with Ramscliffe Avenue

The county council adds these works are weather dependent and further information will be released as works progress.

During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed at One Network
