Jayne Mansfield says she is stepping aside from running The Lyric Rooms venue in Ashby after 34 years.

She made the announcement in a social media post today and that she is handing over the reins to a new family.

The Lyric Rooms - in Lower Church Street - has hosted some famous names over the years and is well known on the entertainment circuit.

Jayne wrote: "After 34 years in business at The Lyric Rooms it is with great sadness that I tell you the time has come for me to handover to a lovely family – Matt, Vanessa & Celeste.

"I wish them all the luck in the world and hope they will have as many wonderful times as I have had from my many years at The Lyric Rooms.

"We have had an array of wonderful, colourful, and amazing events and celebrations together, so many happy memories made with all my fantastic, loyal customers and clients.

"I will be assisting them in a smooth transition and hope all my regular customers and clients will support them in their future ventures at The Lyric Rooms as you have so ably done for me and my team.

"I must also thank my landlords for the amazing relationship I have had with them over the years and especially latterly during the unusual time we have been through.

"The Lyric Rooms would not have thrived without its exceptional staff, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank every member of staff who has ever worked for either Laura & myself or latterly me.

"It has given me great pleasure and a sense of pride to see so many youngsters start their working life with us, gaining confidence, flourishing, and moving into some very exciting careers."

But Jayne admits she will still be involved in business.

She added: "You will appreciate how hard the decision has been to take this step, but as you well know I like to keep busy so Fine Cuisine will continue away from The Lyric Rooms."
