A new independent travel agents is opening in Ashby, hoping to revitalise the High Street with their fresh approach to holiday bookings.

Auria Travel was founded by Markus Kendall-Young, from Ashby, who has over 30 years experience in the travel industry.

Kendall-Young says he is 'delighted to bring my lifelong love of travel back to where it all began – my home town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.'

At a time where a large proportion of travel businesses have moved to only operating online, Auria Travel have decided to take a different approach. By opening a brick-and-mortar store in the heart of Ashby, Markus will create local jobs and give customers a full in-person service to fit their needs which online travel agents cannot provide.

Manager of Ashby BID, Stuart Benson said: 'Our high street thrives when passionate entrepreneurs invest in our town. It's fantastic to see a new independent brand like Auria Travel bring jobs, innovation and a bit of excitement back to the town centre. We wish Markus and his team every success.'

Unlike other travel agents, Auria Travel specialise in creating tailor made and unique travel experiences, including multi-destination adventures and luxury cruises to immersive cultural trips and fully personalised itineraries.

This all-encompassing approach means Auria can meet the needs of each traveller that comes through their door, whether that is a family looking for a fun-packed getaway, a pair of backpackers hunting for thrill and adventure or a solo traveller that just wants to unplug and unwind somewhere nice.

There will be a grand opening for Auria Travel on Friday 26 September where Mayor of Ashby, Damilola Ojuri will mark the official opening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
