Here's When Ashby Tip Is Open Over New Year

Ashby's Waste Recycling Centre at Lount will be closed on New Year's Day.

The regular opening hours are: Monday: 9:00-17:00; Tuesday - Wednesday: Closed; Thursday - Sunday: 9:00-17:00

The site address is Nottingham Road, Lount, LE65 1SD

But Coronavirus restrictions are still in place and you will need book an appointment on the Leicestershire County Council website if you need to visit.

Vehicles are only allowed access to the site with a pre-booked appointment

Vans and cars with trailers can book an appointment to visit this site on Thursday and Sunday mornings.

There is a maximum of two adults per vehicle and suitable footwear and gloves should be worn to assist in safe handling of your waste.

But you must also ensure you can unload your waste yourself as unfortunately at present no physical assistance can be given by site staff

All vehicles must be off-site by closing time and pedestrian access is not permitted at this site

When this site is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Coalville is open.

•Batteries Hardcore and soil (Charges apply)

  • Car batteries
  • Low energy bulbs
  • Cardboard
  • Mobile phones
  • Cartons

•Non-recyclable household waste

(black bags, carpet, mattresses etc.)

  • Chipboard

  • Paper

  • Clothes

  • Plasterboard (Charges apply)

  • Cooking oil

  • Plastic bottles, tubs, pots and trays

  • Flat glass (Charges apply)

  • Scrap metal

  • Fluorescent tubes

  • Shoes

  • Foil

  • Small appliances

  • Food tins and drink cans

  • Textiles

  • Fridges and freezers

  • TVs and monitors

  • Garden waste

  • Used engine oil

  • Gas bottles

  • White goods (large domestic appliances)

  • Glass

  • Wood
