The Lyric Rooms in Ashby are staging two nights based on classic comedy series.

'Allo 'Allo and Fawlty Towers feature in dining evenings to be held at the Lower Church Street venue.

On September 25, the night is being centred around the popular BBC show 'Allo 'Allo which features the wartime efforts of Rene the barkeeper's attempts to keep his German soldier regulars happy while working with the French Resistance at the same time.

The Lyric Rooms' Facebook page says: "Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once...

"Pop along to this 'umble cafe for a night to remember as Rene juggles the Gestapo, the Resistance, his secret affairs and his wife, Edith."

This is followed by the Fawlty Towers Christmas Comedy Dinner on December 4 with the Lyric Rooms promising: 'A three course meal served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel! With extra large portions of fun and lots of comedy sketches."

The venue adds: "Basil, Sybil and Manuel, meet and greet their guests and serve them a hilarious 3–course dinner with comedy sketches performed throughout the meal.

"A healthy portion of chaos and mayhem is thrown in for good measure whilst the legends of hotel catering management do everything they can to keep the evening on course, of course!

"Expect a big fun night out in a friendly party atmosphere with some of the finest comedy actors in the land. Professionally produced to the highest standards and with your enjoyment always top of the menu.

"A faultless show that guarantees to reach the chuckle muscles you never knew you had!

"Your ticket price of just £39.95 includes a 3 course dinner and coffee.

"Our evening ends at midnight.

"Please do give Jayne a call on 07946 438904 to reserve your place."
