The Friends of Ashby Bath Grounds has issued an appeal for new committee members to ensure the group survives as an organisation.

The call has been made 'as a matter of urgency' due to four members stepping down - including the current Chair.

Friends of the Bath Grounds prides itself on its achievements at what has often been described as Ashby's 'Jewel in the Crown' - an open, green space used by many in the town.

Its work is listed on the Friends of the Bath Grounds website HERE.

The group posted a social media message on Thursday which reads: "Unfortunately, we need to announce the stepping down of four key members of the committee this year, including the current Chair.

"These four committee members have dedicated seven years to the Friends and brought about great improvements to the Bath Grounds, including playing a key role in achieving the Green Flag Award for the Bath Grounds, for two consecutive years, and the protection of the Bath Grounds from building applications .

"We are desperately looking for new committee members, as a matter of urgency, to ensure that the Friends of Ashby Bath Grounds is to survive and continue our work.

"Please contact the Friends of Ashby Bath Grounds on [email protected], before 24th November if you would like more information and feel you would like to stand for the committee."
