Four vehicle collision caused road to be blocked near roundabout in Ashby

By Graham Hill 16th Aug 2021

A traffic collision involving four vehicles meant a busy route into Ashby had to be closed on Friday evening (August 13).

The incident happened just after 5pm on the B587 Nottingham Road where it meets the A511 at the roundabout on the outskirts of the town.

Despite the number of vehicles involved, there were no injuries.

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "We were called at 5.07pm on Friday 13 August to a report of a four vehicle road traffic collision on the A511 at its junction with B587, no injuries.

"The road was closed as it was blocked and it's since been reopened.

"The vehicles involved were a white Ford, black Volvo estate, orange Honda and a grey Mercedes estate."
