The Santa Routes for the Rotary Clubs of Ashby this Christmas have been announced - with Father Christmas getting a new set of tyres to help him on his way.

This year, Santa begins his tour of the area at the end of the month, and he will not finish until December 23.

But he has also made sure that the tyres on his sleigh are also in top condition.

Santa will be backed on his rounds by Elmbridge Tyres-Pro Tyre in Swadlincote - and a poem to explain it all has been sent in along with the Santa Route for 2023. 

When Santa checked his sleigh last week,

He saw a problem that made him say EEK!

It's almost a year since it had last moved a metre,

Two new tyres would make travel sweeter.

But who to ring, that was the question,

To give the earthly sleigh attention.

Rudolph suggested a local firm,

But the cost of replacement made Santa squirm.

The tyres are not in their best repair, said he

I'm sure when you visit you won't disagree.

The firm was called Pro-Tyre, who had all the nous,

Who paid a call to the local house.

They had the tools and all the equipment,

To ensure safe travel during this advent.



The job was completed in the nick of time,

A few days to go before the sleigh bells chime.

Emergency dealt with, without any fuss and Santa asked for the bill,

Pro-Tyre replied, 'There's nowt to discuss, tis the season of goodwill.

It's been a pleasure for all that you do,

This one's on us, you don't owe a soul.'
