Five arrested in village near Ashby on suspicion of handling stolen goods

Officers investigating vehicle crime have arrested five people at a village just outside Ashby.

Leicestershire Police say that, following enquires, at 2pm on Tuesday (24 August), officers executed a warrant at a business premises in Boundary.

A vehicle that was reported stolen was recovered, along with numerous car parts and related equipment.

A 47-year-old man, a 29-year-old man and a 68-year-old women, all from Burton-upon-Trent, and two men, 35 and 19, both from Branston, were all arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

They remain in custody.

A subsequent search of a property in Burton saw documents relating to the ownership of cars and car parts recovered. Enquiries are ongoing.
