Amanda said: "I have faced many challenges as a headstrong, career-driven independent woman.

"In the 1980s, when I first started as a legal secretary, working in a legal professional services environment was very male-dominated.

"Over the years, this has changed to the point that it seems to have reversed.

"I needed the support of my family which I was fortunate enough to have, to enable me to learn and gain my legal qualification as a lawyer, both by correspondence and at night school, whilst working full time and bringing up a young family.

"To be successful, you do not have to be loud, tough, and masculine, but as a female business owner, leader, and role model you can still show compassion and kindness for others whilst remaining resilient."
