Driver Demolishes Wall In Calke Village Crash

A motorist crashed through a wall at Calke village in a road traffic collision last night (Tuesday).

Emergency services attended the scene which saw the vehicle crash at the Severn Trent Round Car Park near Staunton Harold Reservoir.

Melbourne fire crew made the scene safe with Swadlincote Response Unit and East Midlands Ambulance service also in attendance after the incident which was reported just before 8.45pm.

Hilton, Mercia and Melbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team posted about the incident on social media and said: "@swadresponse attended this incident this evening along with @MelbourneRds and @EMASNHSTrust.

"Stark reminder to always remember to adjust your speed and driving to the conditions of the road, especiallyon roads you do not know."

Melbourne On-Call Fire Station also tweeted and posted: "20:43 @MelbourneRds attended an RTC at the Round Car Park, Calke Village near Staunton Harold.

"One car into a wall. Firefighters made the scene safe. @DerbysPolice also attended."

The condition of the driver has not been revealed.
