Details for Ashby's Remembrance Sunday service have been confirmed by Ashby Town Council.

The parade will assemble from 8.30am on Sunday 8 November onwards at Ivanhoe School, North Street and will move away promptly at 9am.

A junior parade will also be held.

The main march will head onto North Street, then The Green, Elford Street, Derby Road, Market Street, past the war memorial on Market Street and then onto Lower Church Street to St Helen's Church.

The traditional Annual Service of Remembrance will take place at St.Helen's Church at 9.30am.

In order to facilitate more efficient access to St.Helen's Church some members of the parade will be directed to enter via the South Door (closest to Manor House School) and to be seated on that side of the church.

In addition, younger members of the parade will attend Holy Trinity Church on Kilwardby Street for an "All Age Service". This will be a more relaxed, family-friendly service and will relieve some of the pressure at St.Helen's Church which will be very crowded.

Those groups attending the All Age Service at Holy Trinity will form up at the rear of the parade and break off at the end of Derby Road and proceed up Kilwardby Street to the church at that point.

Participants at the All Age Service will re-join the parade when it re-forms on Lower Church Street at the conclusion of the church services.

The parade will leave Lower Church Street at around 10.40am in time for the Act of Remembrance and the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.

Those who wish to lay a wreath are asked to stay with their respective groups until reaching the War Memorial where they will be directed to the appropriate area.

This year's parade and service at the War Memorial will be live streamed on social media.
