Date set for voters to elect two new ward members to Ashby de la Zouch Town Council

A date has been set to elect two new councillors to Ashby de la Zouch Town Council's Holywell Ward in the new year.

The polls will open on Thursday, January 20, for the public to cast their vote.

The candidates to represent the ward will be named just before Christmas on December 20.

Ashby Town Council announced the vacancies for the councillors last month Town council announces vacancies for two new councillors.

The councillors will represent the Burton Road/Smisby Road area of the town.

Alhough yhe identity of the councillors who are stepping down were not revealed revealed by the council, the names of Andreas Ioannou-Nikou and Henry Harris are no longer listed.

The notice of vacancies for the councillors said: "Notice is hereby given that TWO vacancies exist in the Office of Town Councillor for the Holywell Ward of the Parish of Ashby de la Zouch in the District of North West Leicestershire."
