Make Ashby More Fabulous is back for their second Big Clean, calling on local people to help them keep the town centre looking its best.

'Make Ashby More Fabulous' in an effort by two Ashby women, in collaboration with Ashby Town Council, Ashby Civic Society and other local organisations, to keep the town centre presentable and welcoming to visitors.

Kathy and Julia organised the first Big Clean in September, with over 60 volunteers joining in the clean.

This included Ashby town councillors, as well as members of the WI, U3A and local Girl Guides.

The second Big Clean will take place on Saturday 18 April, where volunteers can join Kathy and Julia for a fun morning, meeting new people and showing Market Street some love.

As always, Kathy and Julia will be dressed up in their 1950s cleaning ladies outfits to spread a bit of fun to Make Ashby More Fabulous.

This will also be an opportunity to hear news on the Town of Culture Bid, as well as updates and plans for future projects from Kathy and Julia.

After the big clean, enjoy a bacon cob from Zamani's. To order a cob, drop your name in the Town Council Letter Box.

The Big Clean will take place from 9am to 10.30 on Saturday 18 April. To join in, meet by Paddington at the top of Market Street.

Basic equipment will be available, with water from pubs of Market Street and the Tool Box but bring along buckets, sponges and brushes if possible.
