Date confirmed for this year's Ashby Soapbox Derby after popularity of 2024 event in Market Street

The Ashby Soapbox Derby will be returning to the town centre this Spring.

Ashby BID has confirmed that the event is being held once more following the success of last year's derby which attracted thousands to the town centre.

Not only did it provide a unique spectacle, it also encouraged people to use town centre businesses.

This year's event will be held on Sunday, May 18, and entries are already being invited.

Ashby BID announced this year's derby on social media and said: "Rev Your Engines! The Ashby Soapbox Derby 2025 is here! 

"Get ready to experience the thrill of a lifetime at the Ashby Soapbox Derby 2025 on Sunday, May 18, 2025! 

"Whether you're racing to victory, dazzling the crowd with your creativity, or cheering from the sidelines, this action-packed event promises excitement for all.

"Entry Fee: £30 per team. Picture a 200-metre course filled with twists, jumps, and roaring cheers. Will your soapbox design claim victory or win the crowd's hearts?

"Don't miss out—mark your calendars, and get ready for pedal-to-the-metal fun!"
