The Venture Theatre in Ashby is the latest organisation in the town to be hit by the spread of Coronavirus.

They announced on Tuesday morning the venue's next play, Love On The Dole, has been postponed and no new date has been decided.

Performances were scheduled for Thursday, April 23, Friday 24, Sat 25, then Wednesday 29, Thursday 30, Friday May 1 and Saturday May 2. 

The decision comes less than 24 hours on from the cancellation of this year's REALFest at Ashby's Bath Grounds in June which also gave the spread of Coronavirus as the reason for the postponement REALfest cancelled due to Coronavirus spread

The Venture Theatre's Facebook page confirmed: "We regret to announce that the next play, 'Love on the Dole' has been postponed.

"Theatre Management have felt obliged to take this decision due to the threat that Coronavirus will peak around the time that the play is due to open.

"We apologise to anyone who has already purchased a ticket."
