Building work at a new housing development in Ashby is progressing well, with 85 per cent of the new homes now completed.

Work started more than two years ago at Broadleaf, a new neighbourhood of 145 homes off Moira Road by Ashberry Homes, and is due to finish next year.

Homes have been selling at a good rate at the development, but there is still a range of four and five-bedroom houses in five different styles available, with prices from £330,000.

Sales Director for Ashberry Homes' East Midlands division, Carolyne Watkinson, said: "Broadleaf has proven to be an extremely popular development in a desirable location. Those who are interested should act fast before the remaining homes for sale are snapped up, as we're getting towards the last chances to buy here.

"Broadleaf boasts an idyllic setting close to the National Forest, which is perfect for walking, cycling and wildlife spotting.

"The size of the houses on offer at the development makes it ideal for families but we have seen a wide range of buyer types find the home of their dreams here. Young professionals, downsizers and first-time buyers have all secured themselves a home at Broadleaf."

First-time buyers in particular have taken advantage of the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme to assist them in purchasing a home.

Help to Buy allows people to buy a new-build home up to the value of £600,000 with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage, with the remaining 20 per cent provided in the form of an equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years.

There are two showhomes currently open at Broadleaf, the four-bedroom Wykeham and the five-bedroom Brignall house types.

One-to-one appointments can be booked to view the showhomes whilst adhering to social distancing measures, and virtual tours are also available from Ashberry Homes' website.
