A cold snap is expected to hit Ashby this weekend with temperatures dropping as low as –5 degrees Celsius.

From this evening (Friday 2 January) onwards, temperatures will begin to drop, reaching 0 degrees at 6pm, feeling like –4 degrees.

By 11pm, it is expected to drop to –1 degrees, feeling like –7 degrees over night and continuing to get colder into the early hours of the morning.

By 6am on Saturday 3 January, the Met Office predict temperatures will feel like –9 degrees in the Ashby areas, with the actual temperature at around –3 degrees.

The warmest on Saturday will be around 0 degrees at 3pm, still feeling like –5 degrees.

Overnight, temperature will drop again to –3 degrees, feeling like –8 degrees into Monday morning.

On Monday, temperatures are predicted to stay around the –2 degrees mark, feeling like –6 degrees in the evening.

This cold weather could cause icy conditions on the road, as well as impacting other forms of transportation. Take more time to make journeys to account for any issues on the roads.

For updates on the weather and any weather warnings, keep up to date with the Met Office website
