Restaurant makes presentation to Ashby Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal after tapestry is raffled

La Zouch restaurant in Ashby made a cheque presentation after raising £150 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal ahead of Remembrance Day.

The Kilwardby Street-based restaurant held a poppy tapestry raffle over the past few weeks.

A customer - Miss Pat Kelly - hand crafted the tapestry (pictured).

The long stitch tapestry waS framed in pine with quality glass by Ferrars Frames.

It was made in memory of Pat's mother who was a telephonist for the GPO in London during the Second World War - and her father, who was an outider for the Fire Service and a Bevin Boy.

It was valued at approximately £75.00 and the draw took place on Armistice Day, November 11,
