Castle Medical Group issues apology after emailing patients over use of emergency vehicle bay
Castle Medical Group in Ashby has apologised to patients for sending out a 'generic' email telling people not to park in the emergency vehicle bay at the surgery off Burton Road.
The messages addressed the patient in person - which left many questioning if it was meant specifically for them.
Castle Medical sent out the emails after people had been - wrongly - using the area directly in front of the health centre.
This is meant for emergency use only - and the initial message reads: "Our emergency vehicle space at the front of the building should not be used for any other purpose. Thanks. Castle Medical Group."
However, some patients responded that they had not done what they had, apparently, been accused of.
Castle Medical then followed it up with another email.
That reads: "Apologies for the wording of yesterday's message.
"We have people using the emergency bay inappropriately and the message was intended to raise our concerns. Please see our Facebook page for more details."
A further message on Facebook reads: "Please note: a generic message has been sent via NHS App and SMS to all our patients.
"This is not to single anyone out, and we apologise if the message appears that way.
"The bay should always be left clear for emergency vehicles only. We appreciate your understanding."
