Selected patients are to be invited for vaccinations at Ashby's Castle Medical Group - but only when supplies allow.

The health centre says that 'new functionality' will allow people to attend the Burton Road surgery.

Eligible patients will have details sent to them by text.

But the surgery makes it clear this can only happen when Castle Medical has been allocated a supply of vaccines.

A message on the Castle Medical Facebook page explains: "New functionality has been released by our medical system supplier and we are now able to invite patients to book a clinic appointment for a Covid19 vaccination online via an SMS (text) invite.

"The clinics will be held at Castle Medical Group and ONLY when we have been advised that we have a stock of vaccines that have made available to us.

"Vaccination clinics can ONLY being held when we have been allocated a supply of vaccinations.

"Eligible patients will be sent an SMS (text) invite which includes a link unique to that patient that will take them to the booking system.

"The link will last for seven days from being sent.

"The wording of the text invite is as follows:

https://systmonline................. this will be the URL for the booking link

"Please use this link to book your Covid19 vaccination being held at Castle Medical Group.

"Once booked, if you need to cancel please contact reception.

We would like to thank our patients for bearing with us whilst we work our way through the very long list of cohort 6 patients."
