Burton Road in Ashby was closed on Saturday afternoon after a woman was injured when she came off her bike.

Police and ambulance services attended the incident which happened at 4.50pm.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "At 4.50pm on Saturday (16 May) we received a report that a cyclist had suffered injuries in Burton Road, Ashby.

"Officers attended and found that the cyclist, a woman, had come off her bike.

"The East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.

"The road was closed for a short time while emergency services remained at the scene."
