A truck reversed into the shutters of two units on an industrial estate in Measham before making off with stolen items.

Police are currently investigating the two burglaries at Huntingdon Way.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 8.20pm on Monday, October 3, after it was reported a red flatbed truck had been used to reverse into the shutters of two units and items stolen.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, but police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident or the truck either before or afterwards to make contact.

"Residents and businesses are also asked to check CCTV and doorbell camera footage for anything that might be of use.

"From enquiries carried out so far it is believed the truck was stolen the day before the incident from an address in Nottingham.

"The truck has been described as red with orange flashing lights on the roof.

"On both of the cabin doors is the company name 'Jefferson and Sons'."

After leaving the scene the vehicle is believed to have turned left onto Tamworth Road and then right onto Atherstone Road, before heading out of the village.

PC Stephanie Kingston, investigating officer, said: "We are looking to trace the vehicle and identify those responsible for this crime.

"If anyone was in the area between 8pm and 9pm on Monday and saw the truck or anyone acting suspiciously, please contact police.

"Also, I would urge people to check CCTV and doorbell camera footage as you may have captured something that could be of use to our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 22*576316.
