A temporary road closure is planned in Ashby town centre at the beginning of August.

Leicestershire County Council has issued a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order for Lower Church Street to allow Severn Trent Water to safely install a new water connection.

It is thought the closure will not last more than three days and will also mean the suspension of one-way restrictions.

The Council says "The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days commencing on the 3rd August 2020.

"The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure, and suspension of one-way restrictions."

A map of the closure issued by the County Council shows the road will be closed in the middle of Lower Church Street with a diversion planned along Market Street, Bath Street and North Street for traffic approaching from Nottingham Road and Wood Street.
