Returning on Saturday 9th August, the third annual Ashby Pride is looking for volunteers, performers and local shops to join them in making this year the town's biggest pride to date. 

This year hopes to be bigger and brighter than the last, with a new stage, parade, dog show and more giving something for everyone to enjoy. 

However, for the event to run safely and smoothly, organisers are asking local people to get involved as volunteers, for the whole day or just a portion, to help giving information, setting up and checking in with stalls, ensuring everyone is happy and safe and helping with set up and take down before and after the event.

This year will include a new Community Stage at the top of Market Street where organisers are inviting local people to perform. Whether you are part of a singing group, a whizz with a musical instrument or fancy donning lashes and a wig for your very own drag performance, there are still spots on the Community Stage for local bands and performers. For local businesses, organisers welcome shops to get involved by decorating their windows on the run up to 9th August, ready to celebrate on the day.

New for this year will be the Pride Parade. This will take place from the Bowling Green Pub, along Brook Road, up one side of Market Street and back down the other. Bring your flags, face paint and show your pride! 

There will also be the chance to get involved in the Pride Fashion Show, showcasing the best our local charity shops have to offer, as well as a scavenger hunt around town. Natural Hounds will also be hosting a special Best Dressed Pride Pooch competition.
