The company behind Ashby's snack factories has taken a big step in reducing environmental impacts through expanding the use of rainwater harvesting technology.

The global company pladis UK&I is behind some of the UK's most iconic snack brands, including McVitie's, Go Ahead, Haansbro and Flips, which are manufactured in the Ashby distribution centre.

This move is expected to reduce the distribution centre's water usage by 25%, following the successful implementation of this method at the first distriburiotn centre, reducing mains water usage by 50%.

This has already resulted in 2.5 million litres of mains water being saved in the past year.
