Ashby's Santa Fun Run and Walk marked its 10th anniversary on Sunday - and attracted almost 750 entries to the annual event in the Bath Grounds.

This year, the festive gathering was raising money for Rainbows Children's Hospice, Loros Hospice, Staunton Harold Sailability Trust along with other charities supported by Ashby Rotary.

BBC East Midlands Today presenter, Anne Davies, was at the Bath Grounds in her role as a fundraiser for Rainbows and Loros.

Rotary representative, Dale Warren, said: "It was another fantastic event and we've had some amazing feedback from many of the Santas. We had 744 entries this year.

"The costumes that people came in were absolutely brilliant - we're delighted to say that the early morning rain didn't put people off and cleared up in time for the start of the event.

"It was humbling to once again have such great support from local people taking part in the Santa Run and we'd like to thank everybody who entered, all of our sponsors for their amazing support again and our partners who were all critical in helping us to put on another successful event.

"We're going away now to sort monies out ready to do a formal cheque presentation to our charities in January, so we'd ask all of those wonderful people who have raised personal sponsorship to collect money and get it to us as soon as possible before Christmas so that we can add that in with the rest of the money raised.

"We can't wait to see you all again for our 11th Ashby Santa Fun Run & Walk in 2025!"
