Ashby’s new cocktail bar and Caribbean bistro announce official opening

A new cocktail bar and bistro on Ashby's Bath Street, Calypso, have announced their official opening with much anticipation from local people. 

The new English and Caribbean bistro and cocktail bar is opening at 11-13 Bath Street on Wednesday 22 October, inviting visitors to enjoy their carefully crafted cocktails and Caribbean flavours.  

They have also shared their new menus, one offering a mix of English dishes, the other Caribbean. 

On their Caribbean menu, they have starters including: ackee and saltfish fritters, jerk chicken wings and traditional Jamaican patties, with mains including jerk chicken, jerk salmon, curried goat, oxtail stew and more. 

On the English menu they have options like pan-fried wood pigeon, pan seared scallops, wild boar lasagne and onion bhaji style scotched egg. 

They will also offer a variety of cocktails from their in house mixologist.

According to their recent Facebook post, opening hours will be as follows: 

  • Monday – Closed 
  • Tuesday – Closed 
  • Wednesday – 4-10 (Food served 4-9) 
  • Thursday – 4-11 (Food served 4-10) 
  • Friday – 12-11 (Food served 12-10) 
  • Saturday – 12-11 (Food served 12-10) 
  • Sunday – 12-6 (Food served 12-5)
