Ashby's Fabulous returns to the town centre today (Saturday) - with a new twist.

Previous 'Fabulous' Saturdays have featured businesses with employees modelling in the windows to promote their companies.

But this year's event will take the form of a live 'whodunnit' in the town centre - with visitors invited to take part by visiting local shops in the Ashby BID-organised event.

Town Centre Manager, Stuart Benson, said families are being encouraged to take part in the event, which begins at 10.30am.

He said: "There'll be a story that a painting has been stolen and then you have to work out who's stolen it.

"You'll need to go around the town to visit all of the witnesses and hear their statements, then you can see if you're right.

"It's all about getting people into the town to follow a trail of over 30 businesses - it's different this year but still ties in to the Ashby's Fabulous aim of getting people to shop local.

"There'll still be some businesses using 'live' models, but the whodunnit is the main theme this year."
