Ashby's Castle Medical Group says that over 4,000 of its patients have now received their Covid vaccination.

The Burton Road centre says that the next groups will be contacted to arrange their appointments.

But people may now receive a text message instead of a phone call - and the surgery is keen to re-assure patients that it is a genuine way of contacting people locally.

Castle Medical Group posted online and said: "Now 4,200 of our patients have been vaccinated.

"We are now booking patient in cohort 5 (over 65) and cohort 6 (aged 16 to 65 with an underlying health condition on the eligibility list).

"To help with getting patients booked in for your appointment the process has been amended.

"We may telephone you or you may receive a text message with a link to book your own appointment.

"We would like to reassure you that if you do receive a text message that this is genuine.

"Please note that this link is just valid for the person named only."
