Local community football club Ashby United CFC, in partnership with leading sports fund raiser Give to Local, has launched a brand new, pioneering app to help raise funding and increase community engagement and support.

The new app, that can be downloaded straight to your smartphone, gives parents, players, patrons and members of the wider Ashby community an opportunity to support the club for as little as £3 per month.

Givetolocal works closely with key partners including County Football Associations and others who play an active role to secure a positive future for the grassroots game.

Describing the purpose of the program a GTL spokesperson said: "Grassroots football clubs are a vital part of our local communities and provide opportunities for everyone to play football irrespective of background, skill level or ability to pay.

"These opportunities only exist because passionate, committed individuals across the country give up their time, week-in and week-out.

"Ashby United Community Football Club is an ideal partner for Give to Local.

"The club has a fantastic community footprint and support from the local Ashby population. We're delighted to welcome Ashby United CFC"

GiveToLocal is making a positive difference for over 30,000 teams across the UK and is working pro-actively with a number of County FAs, Leagues, Premier League and EFL clubs.

A spokesperson for Ashby United CFC explained: "Ashby United is delighted to be involved in the GivetoLocal campaign.

"It provides people the chance to make a small but very important contribution to help young people enjoy sport in a fun and safe environment.

"We plan to publish a regular list of initiatives and resources that the GTL scheme has directly funded so that supporters can see exactly where the money has been spent.

"We hope to attract as many people as possible, so please help.

"After the initial launch, the next stage of the campaign is to reach out to local traders and businesses.

"The smart feature of the GivetoLocal app is that, once a business signs up, that business, retailer or service provide can post offers and vouchers directly through the GivetoLocal app to the Ashby United CFC audience.

"A clever and effective way to support local businesses in these very uncertain times."
