Ashby Sport Funday takes place tomorrow - with the town's clubs inviting you to come along and 'Have a go'

By Graham Hill 2nd Jul 2021

Ashby Sport Funday is being held on The Bath Grounds tomorrow (Saturday) - and it is a chance for all sports to get together and showcase what they have to offer to the community.

The day will celebrate the diversity and opportunity presented by the many sports clubs in the town.

It will be taking place on Saturday, July 3, between 10am-4pm.

Ashby Sport says it is delighted to have over 35 clubs listed on the website and most of the clubs are actively taking part in the event.

There will be activities ranging from Archery to Croquet, and Boxing to live fitness sessions.

If you have ever wondered what it is like to shoot an arrow, swing a golf club or play a grandmaster at Chess, come along and have a go in a safe, fun environment.

All the clubs involved cater for people of all ages and abilities.

Each club will also have a selection of prizes, goodies and giveaways kindly provided by McDonald's, the Co-op and Ashby Sport's sponsor the Monkey Tree Restaurant.

A selection of food and a fully licensed bar will be available at Ashby Hastings Cricket Club.

Entry to this event is FREE and is brought to you by the volunteers at Ashby Sport, the member sports clubs and delivered in partnership with Ashby de la Zouch Town Council.

The organisers are urging people to come along and support this exciting event.

It is one of the first to be held in the town as the area emerges from lockdown, but there will be social distancing where appropriate.
