Emergency road works could affect Upper Packington Road in Ashby until the middle of this week.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order here, close to the railway bridge.

The council says the order will be implemented for public safety so that National Grid Electricity Distribution can make emergency excavations to locate and repair a fault.

That has meant a road closure approximately 25m south of Priorfields.

Closures have been in place since Thursday and the one.network site HERE forecasts work could last until Wednesday.

The county council says that, once works have been completed the road will reopen.

They had originally been undertaken using temporary signals - the proposed alternative diversion route is signed on site.

During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic can be also be viewed HERE.
